ABOUT ME

 

Tyra Ware is a graduating journalism major with an emphasis in Cinema Studies at Hampton University. She is the co-executive producer of two weekly television shows at the student television studio: WHOV-TV, a newscast, and RAW TV, an entertainment talk show. She also was a news producer at Prince George’s Community Television for CTV News. She has experience in broadcast writing, directing, producing and leadership.

Tyra produced an award-winning short film in Hampton’s 2023 Film Festival and an award-winning informative documentary in Prince George’s County Public School’s 2020 Media Festival. She has strong editing, camera work, and script writing skills. She is also a member of the Hampton University Chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists.

Tyra wants to professionally produce news, entertainment shows and short films while opening the doors for black women in higher positions in the media industry.
